Turhish Stuffed Vegetables with Olive Oil (Zeytin Yağlı Dolma): Ingredients
- Grape leaves
- 3 cups rice
- 1 cup fine bulgur
- Fresh basil
- Mint
- Salt
- 1 medium-sized onion
- 1.5 tablespoons tomato paste
- Approximately 3 cups water
- 1.5 cups Sunmare Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Turhish Stuffed Vegetables with Olive Oil: Recipe
- Heat 1/2 cup of Sunmare olive oil in a pan, sauté chopped onions until golden.
- Add rice, fine bulgur, fresh basil, mint, salt, and tomato paste to the sautéed onions. Mix well.
- Pour enough water to cover the mixture. Cook until the water is absorbed and the rice is cooked.
- Remove the stems from the grape leaves and place a spoonful of the rice mixture on each leaf.
- Roll the grape leaves tightly, folding the sides in as you go.
- Arrange the rolled grape leaves in a pot, placing them closely together.
- Pour 1 cup of Sunmare Extra Virgin Olive Oil and enough water to cover the dolmas.
- Place a plate on top of the dolmas to prevent them from unraveling during cooking.
- Cover the pot and cook over high heat until it starts boiling, then reduce the heat and simmer until the rice is fully cooked.
- Check for doneness by tasting the rice and add water as needed during cooking.
- Once cooked, let them cool before serving.
